OUR STRATEGY

We work with rural women at the core of our implementation

WEZ aims at facilitating interventions that recognise women as equal partners in development and policy processes. Women represent a crucial resource in agriculture and the rural economy through their roles as farmers.

Our projects on policy are deeply rooted in shaping the concerned policies to bring about change. Our work has been mostly practical putting emphasis on agriculture productive resources that is women land rights and environmental management, indigenous seed multiplication,  preservation and using sustainable ways of growing the crops in the context of food security and sovereignty. The project we implement introduce and promote agro-ecological farming and initiate sustainable farming methods to recover the environment and deal with extensive destruction of the ecosystem such as forests by communities. The project activities will work on laws that safe guard women’s rights to land, environmental safety, indigenous seed saving rights, indigenous knowledge and exchange systems for food and nutrition security and illustrate concrete alternatives based on women’s daily experiences under the banner “we have solutions.”
