We are an organization that focuses on advocating for rural women's rights, environmental conservation, and sustainable development. We work at the intersection of gender equality and environmental issues, aiming to empower women in rural areas to become key players in environmental stewardship, conservation efforts, and sustainable livelihoods.

Established in 2013, WEZ is a community-based organization founded through the initiative of rural women function groups (clubs) representing women small scale farmers practicing sustainable agriculture and income generation in a rural set up. We are registered under the registrar of societies in Zambia. Our activities are done at community, district, national and regional level.

Priority Areas

ADVOCACY & CAMPAIGNS

Information sharing, training, lobby and advocacy activities on food security in relation to sustainable environmental concerns are done under this area.

NETWORKING & LINKAGES

WEZ is in partnership with other networks that support agricultural, land, climate change and human rights related issues. In solidarity WEZ joins and supports community, district and country actions.

Community services

WEZ activities are implemented by community volunteers who provide leadership and on hand services. We mobilize resources and technical support services for sustainable agriculture to the grassroots.
